Penton Media's e-Pro Magazine Names Apex Awards Winners

Penton Technology Media, a division of Penton Media, Inc., (NYSE: PME) announced today the 13 winners of the first annual e-Pro Magazine Apex Awards for Lotus. Winners were announced at The View ADMIN 2002 in Boston, Massachusetts.

"The Apex Awards recognize industry leaders who have made valuable contributions to their customers and the market," said Wayne Madden, publisher of e-Pro Magazine.

The winner of the 2002 Industry Driver award is COGNICASE, Inc. The award winner was determined by magazine staff and was based on creativity, use of technology, and innovation of product. COGNICASE's Maximizer Enterprise for Notes (ME4N) integrates a wide range of technologies in a way that is meaningful to the end user. Instead of simply acting as a technology showcase, ME4N uses technologies such as Sametime, iNotes, and Domino Global Workbench to significantly improve productivity. And the product's Web interface is one of the most impressive Domino creations. It mimics the Notes interface in an amazing way. ME4N raises the bar on Notes applications.

Both Editors' and Readers' Choice awards were presented in six categories: Application Development; Content & Knowledge Management; General Application Software; Messaging, Collaboration, & c-Commerce; Pervasive & Wireless; and Systems Management. The winners of the Editors' Choice awards were determined by an independent panel of judges featuring product editors, editors, and industry professionals. The winners of the Readers' Choice awards were determined by votes compiled on e-ProMag.com.

The winner in the Application Development Editors' Choice category is Teamstudio for Teamstudio for Notes. Teamstudio offers the most complete range of tools for the Notes and Domino developer. The suite provides features that should always have been a part of Domino Designer. The ability to globally search and replace strings is a huge timesaver for any developer.

The winner in the Content & Knowledge Management Editors' Choice category is CONET USA, Inc., for you@web. CONET USA's you@web is a powerful and comprehensive content and knowledge management tool that lets people build and maintain Internet, extranet, and intranet sites so that even non-technical users can create and manage content. The trio of applications in you@web provides a complete system that works with Domino and WebSphere.

The winner in the General Application Software Editors' Choice category is COGNICASE for Maximizer Enterprise for Notes. Maximizer Enterprise for Notes provides a customer relationship management solution that's applicable to a variety of companies. Its excellent presentation, along with its support for multiple clients, is a real plus.

The winner in the Messaging, Collaboration, & c-Commerce Editors' Choice category is Stampede Technologies, Inc., for TurboGold 4.2. The one thing everyone does with Domino is replication — it's universal. So a product like TurboGold, which makes that process faster, is good for the Domino environment, the network, and the company. Stampede's TurboGold is applicable to all Domino environments and can help make life agreeable both in the server room and on the client side.

The winner in the Pervasive & Wireless Editors' Choice category is Big Sky Technologies, Inc., for Remark! Unified MessagingAssistant. Remark! Unified MessagingAssistant is a feature-rich messaging solution that lets Notes users access their messages — voicemails, e-mails, pager and fax messages — from their Notes inbox or a touchtone telephone. The winner in the Systems Management Editors' Choice category is Candle Corporation for IntelliWatch Pinnacle for the Enterprise. Companies can use Candle's IntelliWatch Pinnacle for the Enterprise in-house or in a hosted environment to expand functionality. The product helps reduce costs associated with manual administration and downtime, and it provides utility right out of the box.

The winner in the Application Development Readers' Choice category is SWING Software Ltd. for SWING Integrator for Notes & Office. SWING Integrator for Notes & Office lets you easily integrate Lotus Notes and Domino Web applications with Microsoft Office.
