Improved Acceleration
Now you can move Lotus Notes data faster than ever before. TurboGold's patented compression, streaming and caching lets you transfer data up to 5 times faster. Plus, this new release enhances your ability to replicate data for offline use and interact with the Notes database online.
Here's how: TurboGold compresses Notes mail and assembles the data into a contiguous data stream, this reduces "handshaking" between servers and between clients and servers. So both your bandwidth usage and network traffic is dramatically reduced - up to 5-to-1. All without changes in operation, scheduling or configuration.

Web Acceleration
TurboGold accelerates iNotes, QuickPlace and Domino HTML applications online in real-time with exclusive HTTP streaming and compression technology that moves data faster. It also speeds offline synchronization of iNotes databases and initial downloading of Domino Offline Services (DOLS).
This means your users have faster Web access and can move information from the Web to every corner of your enterprise quickly, securely and easily while using less bandwidth.
AutoZip™
This feature puts you back in control of data storage thoughout your enterprise. It does this by dramatically reducing disk storage requirements on Domino servers while crunching bandwidth usage. AutoZip dynamically converts Lotus Notes databases and mail attachments to zip format. And it automatically turns off for external e-mail use.
AutoZip works behind the scenes to automatically Zip and unZip attachments so users don't waste time initiating the process. And AutoZip also comes with an add-in utility that can automatically convert existing attachments for an individual user or for all files stored on a Domino server. This one function can help you reclaim an impressive amount of server space.
Multicator®
Another way TurboGold helps you get the most out of your bandwidth is by simultaneously sending database updates to all subscribers. You can configure this function to trigger automatically whenever you send out database updates. Multicator can effectively reduce, even eliminate, the need for point-to-point replication.
Let's say you have 1,000 Notes database subscribers. Instead of 1,000 individual replications you let TurboGold Enterprise Edition send the compressed updates to all 1,000 subscribers at once. In this case frequency and traffic are reduced by a factor of 1,000 to 1. Can you imagine the savings to your bottom line?
Traffic Shaping Management
The sheer volume of electronic data in most organizations is staggering. Which makes managing high priority information both important and challenging. That's why TurboGold gives your Network Administrator a powerful new tool to ensure on-time delivery of critical information. In conjunction with external traffic shaping hardware, you can assign different TCP ports to Domino applications, databases and e-mail to make sure the most important data moves quickly through the system. Plus, Traffic Shaping lets you track bandwidth usage by user and department for greater control and efficiency.
Policy Based Management
TurboGold gives you complete control of many of its acceleration and traffic functions. Your Administrator can set and automatically distribute policies throughout your network for the acceleration of:
- Replication between Domino servers, Lotus Notes clients and iNotes synchronization
- Mail routing between multiple Domino servers and Notes clients
