HYDRITE CHEMICAL CUTS TELECOM COSTS IN HALF USING STAMPEDE TECHNOLOGIES' TURBOGOLD LOTUS NOTES ACCELERATORAward-Winning TurboGold Provides Fast Return on Investment; Drastic Telecom Savings and Time Savings Improve Core Business Competencies(DAYTON, Ohio-April 16, 2002)—Stampede Technologies, Inc., a leading developer of accelerator software for IBM Lotus Notes® and IBM Lotus Domino™ enterprises, today announced that Hydrite Chemical, a $200 million chemical production company, has realized more than 50 percent in telecom savings by using TurboGold. By dramatically accelerating the performance of Lotus Notes, TurboGold has directly impacted Hydrite's bottom line, while enhancing end-user satisfaction and worker productivity. This significant savings in telecommunications costs, combined with an equally impressive time-savings, has resulted in tremendous return on investment for Hydrite Chemical. "Before we installed TurboGold, replicating a customer database, a common daily task, took each sales staff member an average of one hour, with some days more than two hours," said Jim Krueger, director of Information Services at Hydrite. "Since installing TurboGold the replication time has dropped to between 15 and 20 minutes, saving our sales staff significant time. With TurboGold we can contain connection costs while managing more users and traffic within the existing network. Salespeople are essential to Hydrite's success and the better we serve them, the better they serve our customers. Getting vital information to them in a quarter of the time makes that happen." The lifeblood of Hydrite Chemical is its field force of 60 sales agents. Working collaboratively with IBM Lotus Notes through an IBM iSeries AS/400 server system, the sales staff began experiencing a problem with their network. With each user replicating up to 30 databases daily, ranging from 8MB to 10MB in size and some with 8,000 or more records, simple replication was taking well over two hours. Hydrite salespeople were extremely frustrated about valuable time being wasted on the replication process. Hydrite Chemical purchased TurboGold from Stampede Technologies, which enables Lotus Notes and Domino environments to run up to five times faster. After installing TurboGold, one Hydrite salesperson downloaded 1,200 documents in 58 seconds, a time-savings of 80 percent. Installation of TurboGold took less than 30 minutes and the software was up and running system-wide in one hour. "Rather than implement costly infrastructure upgrades to improve network performance, Hydrite Chemical decided to leverage an existing technology that its employees had already grown to depend on - Lotus Notes," said Gordon Dorworth, president and CEO of Stampede. "Since installing TurboGold, Hydrite has experienced an incredible ROI which continues to directly affect the company's bottom line." TurboGold offers several efficiency-driven capabilities, including online attachment compression, offline acceleration of design element replication, and acceleration support for iNotes users. TurboGold provides a dramatic improvement in both the online and offline transfer of Lotus Notes data, enabling enterprises to cut costs and delay or eliminate costly infrastructure investments.
