Sheetz Convenience Stores Chooses Stampede Technologies to Enhance Performance

Remote Stores to Benefit from Optimized Bandwidth Utilization

Dayton, Ohio,
January 15, 2007 –Stampede® Technologies, Inc. (www.stampede.com), a leading provider of acceleration solutions for Web-enabled Enterprise Applications today announced that Sheetz Inc., a $3.4 billion chain of convenience stores with 329 stores in six states has purchased the Stampede Application Acceleration Series™. With this solution, Sheetz expects to achieve network and application performance increases sufficient to allow the company to improve end-user productivity without costly network infrastructure upgrades.

The Stampede Application Acceleration Series is a two-sided hardware/software acceleration solution for maximizing performance and bandwidth utilization of Web-based enterprise applications. The Stampede Application Acceleration Series employs performance-enhancing technologies such as TurboStreaming™ (for accelerating compressed or encrypted objects), SSL Client-side Termination (for accelerating SSL transactions), Intelligent Cache Differencing, Image Transformation, Connection Management and Load Balancing, providing significant performance enhancement. These optimization technologies support traditional HTTP/HTTPS, legacy TCP and the emerging Web 2.0/AJAX application environments. In addition, Stampede’s Acceleration On Demand™ client technology is the first client technology to be automatically injected into the responses sent to the end user, without the need to install software at the client.

”The Stampede software improved the performance of our web based applications at our retail locations. It was easy to install and deploy”, says Jim Wenner, Director of Programming for Sheetz.

“Our Stampede Application Acceleration Series excels in environments like Sheetz that have large numbers of remote locations,” said Gordon Dorworth, Stampede Technologies’ President and CEO. “Not only does our two-sided hardware/software approach to acceleration maximize performance, but our client software model provides the fastest payback and best ROI available.”
