STAMPEDE TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES NEW ACCELERATION FAMILY FOR ENTERPRISE, AJAX AND XML APPLICATIONS

The next generation of acceleration provides tangible benefits and flexible deployment options

Las Vegas, Nevada, May 2, 2006 – Stampede® Technologies, Inc. (www.stampede.com), a leading provider of enterprise acceleration solutions, announced today the release of the Stampede Application Acceleration Series™, a family of solutions for accelerating and optimizing the performance of complex HTTP, SSL, AJAX and XML applications.  The Stampede Application Acceleration Series is an evolutionary replacement for Stampede’s successful WebRider® product that was originally introduced in 2004.

As new HTTP, SSL, AJAX and XML applications are deployed, unprecedented demands are put on the data center and network infrastructures.  The Stampede Application Acceleration Series is specifically designed to accelerate and secure this new breed of network-intrusive applications.

“We have evolved our acceleration technology into its logical next generation” said Gordon Dorworth, Stampede Technologies’’ President and CEO.  “By making architectural improvements to our core technology, we are now able to introduce new product families that converge functionality into a single strategic enterprise platform.”

Built upon Stampede’s visionary approach for maximizing application acceleration, the Stampede Application Acceleration Series solves bandwidth and latency issues by combining a hardware appliance with client software, resulting in:

  • Improved Response Time
  • Reduced Bandwidth Utilization
  • Reduced Data Loads
  • Optimized Transaction Flows
  • Improved End-user Productivity

While the Stampede Application Acceleration Series can function as a single-sided solution to front-end Web application servers, the full potential of bi-directional acceleration is achieved with the two-sided implementation using client software.  As a single-sided solution, the Stampede Application Acceleration Series appliance provides:

  • Application Firewalling functionality to protect the enterprise from attacks
  • Load Balancing to efficiently distribute the transaction workload across all Web application servers
  • Connection Management to offload the Web servers from the burden of establishing and terminating TCP sessions
  • SSL Offloading to eliminate SSL key and encryption processing on the Web servers
  • Image Reduction to automatically reduce the size of images to minimize bandwidth consumption
  • Static Caching of routinely accessed data
  • Support for GZIP Compression to reduce the amount of data sent to industry standard browsers

When client technology is added, the Stampede Application Acceleration Series adds industry leading acceleration technology in the form of:

  • Cache Differencing which maintains a coherent copy of the browser’s cache at the appliance and browser, and only transmits the dynamic changes in data
  • Bi-directional Compression to greatly reduce the amount of data on the network
  • Multiplexing of Large Compressed or Encrypted data objects (TurboStreaming™), which improves performance up to 5 times
  • SSL Client-side Termination which terminates the SSL session at the client and enables the secure acceleration for these transactions

Users of the Stampede Application Acceleration Series have choices for deploying the client software.  The basic Layer 7 HTTP/HTTPS client supports browser-based applications as a transparent Proxy Server on the client.  The advanced Layer 5 Winsock client adds acceleration support for traditional TCP applications that use the Winsock interface.  Users can also deploy the newly announced Acceleration On-Demand technology that automatically injects acceleration into a Web page based upon application policies.

The Stampede Application Acceleration Series appliances use industry-standard hardware and software platforms, exploiting the full power of Linux and 64-bit hardware.  The various client technology options leverage the full Win32 environment to optimize XML, Ajax, HTTP, HTTPS and .NET applications; introducing significant financial savings, while at the same time increasing performance, response times and scalability of enterprise servers.

Availability
The Stampede Application Acceleration Series is available now.  Appliance pricing starts at $35,000 and Client licensing starts at $35 for a single license.

Stampede customers who have already deployed an acceleration solution with WebRider, can easily upgrade their system for the latest functionality offered by the Stampede Application Acceleration Series and upgraded client technology.  Those customers on a yearly subscription service have their investment protected and receive free access to all improvements.

The Stampede Application Acceleration Series, along with other new product announcements, will be exhibited at Interop 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 30 – May 5, 2006 at Stampede booth #459 and Tarari booth #575.

"In our initial tests, TurboGold's potential to decrease costs and improve quality of service was so clear that we made the decision to deploy it across the entire infrastructure. We get faster, superior performance using existing communications lines with the TurboGold Notes accelerator - so we can avoid expensive communications infrastructure changes - and the product's design made installation easy, requiring no changes to Lotus Notes or the way we use it."
