Traffic Shaping Management

TurboGold's Traffic Shaping is a powerful new feature which ensures on-time delivery of time-critical information. Through specific port assignments, priorities and policies that can be assigned at the database level by Network Administrators guaranteeing "Quality of Service" for Notes / Domino applications. Traffic Shaping also permits the tracking of bandwidth usage by individual and/or department leading to much more effective traffic management. External traffic shaping hardware such as Packeteer is required.

Traffic shaping feature allows different TCP ports to be assigned to individual Notes / Domino databases including email. These TCP ports are used in conjunction with traffic shaping hardware to provide different levels of service quality. TurboGold Enterprise Edition provides traffic shaping for client-to-server replication, server-to-server replication, client on-line access both through browsers or Notes clients, mail routing, as well as TurboGold's Enterprise Edition multicasting capabilities. All configuration options for traffic shaping are under the control of the Network Administrator and entered on the TurboGold verifier. There are no settings on the TurboGold client.
