mobile workersIn today's 21st Century world, businesses and government agencies of all types have computer users that are increasingly distributed and mobile, yet they still demand fast access to rich information and applications, constantly straining available wide-area network (WAN) bandwidth, slowing productivity and forcing continual network upgrade cycles. Application acceleration solutions enable enterprises and network service providers to deliver a quality user experience, and dramatically forestall or eliminate expensive upgrades, thus keeping application acceleration as one of their top budget priorities. Stampede excels at Software-based WOC (SoftWOC) capabilities, which are increasingly critical as customers seek to reduce WAN optimization implementation costs. Dedicated hardware is expensive, or cannot be implemented in the fastest-growth remote environments such as mobile devices, such as smartphones and netbooks, and on the remote side of many broadband satellite environments. Stampede was first to market with it's SoftWOC product Stampede has significant advantages in our SoftWOC capabilities as we were the first to market with a SoftWOC solution, and we have continually refined our Client software capabilities to remain the market leader. Benefits fall into two primary camps:
Stampede has developed a diverse Client software framework that allows us to quickly support the broadest array of client devices and environments. Stampede’s framework currently supports Windows 32, Linux, Windows Mobile, and Multi-User Implementations of Windows or Linux. Other devices and environments, including Android and Chrome, can be quickly added thanks to Stampede’s Client software framework. This same framework can easily be added to a next generation router, turning it into a dual-purpose device. With Stampede’s SoftWOC capability, enterprises do not need to install dedicated WOC hardware at remote locations. Rather, they can run Stampede’s SoftWOC on existing Windows or Linux machines in either a standalone mode, or in a multi-user mode to serve several remote clients and gain even greater acceleration. Stampede also has a unique Acceleration On-Demand capability that dynamically injects SoftWOC capabilities into Internet Explorer for two-sided acceleration with no software install requirements on the end-user device. Beyond the important cost of ownership advantages of SoftWOC, putting hardware at the remote location may be impractical in several high growth segments, as is the case with satellite Internet broadband connectivity. In this market, both response times and bandwidth utilization are absolutely critical issues – the former of primary importance to the end-user, and the latter of primary (although not sole) importance to the carrier. Stampede serves both needs, with a capability that does not require any additional hardware or expertise from the end-user, yet allows the carrier to save considerable, expensive bandwidth that they can sell to other customers. Stampede has leveraged our Client framework and released our FX1000 Branch Office WOC device. In the Satellite market, a remote hardware option is becoming a requirement. As such, the FX100 is very beneficial to a market where Stampede already enjoys great success.
