Load Balancing

Stampede's solutions provide an Enterprise Application Server Dispatch function which uses load balancing logic to dispatch requests to back-end servers by routing the request to an application pool of servers in a balanced fashion, thus optimizing the utilization of application servers.  Load balancing can be implemented via two different methods:

  1. Fewest Pending Responses, which dispatches requests to the application server that is most caught up processing its workload.
  2. Least Connections, which dispatches transactions to the application server with the fewest number of connections.

This Load Balancing feature can be utilized for all HTTP applications, as well as most traditional TCP client server applications.

"In our initial tests, TurboGold's potential to decrease costs and improve quality of service was so clear that we made the decision to deploy it across the entire infrastructure. We get faster, superior performance using existing communications lines with the TurboGold Notes accelerator - so we can avoid expensive communications infrastructure changes - and the product's design made installation easy, requiring no changes to Lotus Notes or the way we use it."
